Job Description:

Our client, a well-established precision engineering company, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and oversee manufacturing operations within their busy production facility. The company supplies high-quality machined components to a range of industries and prides itself on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong leadership skills and a solid background in CNC manufacturing to play a key role in driving production performance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee daily production operations within the CNC machining facility.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of machinists, setters, and production staff.
  • Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer deadlines and maximise machine utilisation.
  • Monitor production output, efficiency, and quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to increase productivity.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and planning teams to resolve production issues.
  • Ensure all work complies with required quality standards, drawings, and specifications.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health & safety across the production environment.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators including output, downtime, scrap, and delivery performance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role within a CNC or precision engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of CNC milling and/or turning processes.
  • Experience managing production teams within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement practices such as Lean manufacturing is advantageous.
