A growing healthcare communications agency working with global pharmaceutical and health brands to deliver evidence-based medical education, commercial content and strategic communications. The team combines scientific expertise with creative thinking to translate complex science into meaningful, measurable outcomes.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Medical Writer to lead the development of high-quality, compliant and engaging medical content across a range of therapy areas.

You’ll act as a key scientific voice on client accounts, shaping content strategy, translating complex data into clear messaging, and ensuring all materials meet regulatory and quality standards. This is a client-facing role requiring strong scientific understanding, excellent writing ability and confidence working in a fast-paced agency environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing and delivering scientifically accurate and engaging medical and commercial content
  • Translating complex clinical and scientific data into clear, accessible communications
  • Acting as a client-facing medical writing lead and trusted scientific partner
  • Ensuring all materials are compliant, referenced and aligned with brand strategy
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining quality and deadlines
  • Collaborating closely with strategy, creative and account teams to deliver integrated communications
  • Supporting content development across digital, print, presentations and educational materials
  • Maintaining consistency of medical messaging across all outputs
  • Using Veeva systems to upload, reference and manage content workflows

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in a healthcare or medical communications agency
  • Strong background in writing both medical education and commercial materials
  • Proven experience working directly with clients and key opinion leaders
  • Experience working across multiple therapy areas
  • Confidence interpreting clinical data and scientific literature
  • Experience managing multiple deadlines and complex review cycles
  • Working knowledge of Veeva content systems

Desirable Experience

  • Supporting workshops or scientific meetings
  • Understanding of brand and marketing strategy
  • Experience using Figma or collaborating with design teams

Skills & Competencies

Essential

  • Exceptional written English and attention to detail
  • Strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to simplify complex scientific information without losing accuracy
  • Confident presentation and communication skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Desirable

  • Public speaking or conference presentation experience
  • Involvement in publications, blogs or thought-leadership content
  • Experience contributing to pitches or new business activity

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree (or higher) in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy or related field
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Membership of EMWA, AMWA or similar professional body
  • Evidence of published scientific or medical writing

Working Pattern & Environment

  • Fully remote with regular team meet-ups
  • Occasional UK and European travel required
  • Some flexibility in working hours to accommodate client needs
