Product Development Manager

Leeds (Hybrid Working)

Circa £50,000 + Benefits

A well-known consumer brand in the personal care sector is looking for a Product Development Manager to join its Leeds-based team. This is an opportunity to lead the development of innovative products from concept through to launch within a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

The Role

You will manage the full product development lifecycle, ensuring projects are commercially viable, delivered on time, and meet strict quality and regulatory standards. Working cross-functionally, you’ll play a key role in bringing new products to market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new product opportunities and translate them into clear development briefs
  • Build commercially sound business cases using market, consumer, and internal insights
  • Lead multiple projects, managing timelines, budgets, and specifications
  • Maintain accurate project plans and provide clear stakeholder updates
  • Oversee product testing to ensure quality, safety, and compliance
  • Prepare technical documentation to support regulatory requirements and approvals
  • Manage supplier sourcing, onboarding, and cost negotiations
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Finance, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, and Packaging teams

About You

  • Experience in product development within a highly regulated industry (e.g. medical devices, cosmetics, or similar)
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Commercial awareness, including understanding of P&L, margin, and cost structures
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and inform decisions
  • Confident communicator, able to present technical and numerical information clearly
  • Effective stakeholder manager with a collaborative approach
  • Proactive problem-solver, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
