Salary: £60–70k + Bonus & Benefits

Organisation: Global Financial Data & Research Firm

Overview

A global financial data organisation is hiring a Data Product Owner | Credit Data to operate at the intersection of fixed income markets, data modelling, and product delivery.

This role sits within a specialist credit environment and will focus on building and evolving data products used by institutional clients across asset management, banking, and research.

You will be expected to translate credit market concepts into structured datasets and scalable product features.

The Role

You will own a defined credit data product area and drive delivery from concept through to production, ensuring alignment to both commercial outcomes and end-user value.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage the product backlog aligned to business priorities
  • Translate requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Partner with engineering, data, and commercial stakeholders
  • Lead Agile delivery | sprint planning, refinement, retrospectives
  • Support UAT and release validation
  • Engage with users to refine workflows and usability
  • Analyse datasets using SQL to validate requirements and outputs
  • Monitor adoption, usage, and product performance metrics
  • Drive continuous improvement across product features

You must have demonstrable experience across:

  • Fixed income / credit data | corporate bonds, credit risk, ratings
  • Investment grade vs high yield | spreads, yield, duration
  • Working with financial datasets in a data or product environment
  • Experience in product ownership, delivery, or data product development
  • Strong understanding of data structures | time-series, instrument, issuer data
  • Hands-on SQL or equivalent querying capability
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Ability to operate between technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Exposure to institutional data products | analytics platforms, research tools

What Good Looks Like

  • Strong grounding in credit markets (not theoretical)
  • Ability to translate credit concepts into data models and product features
  • Clear, structured communication across technical and commercial teams
  • Execution-focused mindset | delivery over theory
  • Comfortable operating in data-heavy, low-structure environments

Screening Questions | Required (Yes / No)

Please ask yourself and confirm the following before making an application!

  1. Do you have practical experience analysing how BBB-rated bonds behave under macro stress conditions | including interest rate rises or recession scenarios?
  2. Have you worked with or modelled downgrade scenarios (e.g. BBB → BB) and understand their impact on portfolio construction, liquidity, and forced selling?
  3. Do you understand and have experience interpreting spread behaviour across rating bands | specifically how BBB spreads react relative to A-rated bonds during market stress?
  4. Have you applied credit risk insights (e.g. downgrade risk, sector concentration such as leveraged corporates) within a data, analytics, or product environment?
  5. Have you owned or contributed to the design and delivery of a financial data product | including defining data models for instruments, issuers, ratings, or time-series credit data?
  6. Do you have experience translating credit or fixed income concepts (e.g. ratings changes, spreads, bond lifecycle events) into data structures, datasets, or client-facing product features?

Summary

This is a hands-on data product role, not a generic Product Owner position.
