Principal / Senior Medical Writer – Publications background

Hybrid – London

An established and growing medical communications agency is looking for an experienced Principal / Senior Medical Writer to join their scientific team.

This is a great opportunity for a confident writer who enjoys working across multiple therapy areas, partnering closely with clients, and helping shape high-quality scientific communications. You’ll take a leading role on projects, mentor junior writers, and contribute to strategic discussions across accounts.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading the development of high-quality scientific and medical communications materials
  • Translating complex clinical and scientific data into clear, engaging content for healthcare audiences
  • Acting as a key scientific contact for clients and external experts
  • Reviewing and quality-checking work from colleagues and freelancers
  • Mentoring and supporting the development of junior writers
  • Contributing to account strategy, project planning, and timelines
  • Participating in client meetings and scientific discussions

What they’re looking for

  • Experience in medical writing within a medical communications / healthcare communications agency
  • Strong scientific writing and data interpretation skills
  • Experience developing a range of medical communications deliverables
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members
  • Good understanding of pharma compliance and publication standards

Background

  • Degree in a life sciences discipline (PhD or MSc preferred)
  • Experience working in a medcomms agency and within publications
  • Confident communicator who enjoys collaborating with clients and internal teams
