Role Overview

Europe Arab Bank is looking to engage a Product Control Officer on a 12 month fixed term contract. The Product Control Officer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the bank’s financial data by performing end-to-end reconciliations of Treasury transactions. This role acts as a bridge between the Treasury Front Office and Back Office operations, ensuring all products are properly booked, valued, and reported in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, monthly, and ad-hoc reconciliations between Treasury Front Office trade systems and Back Office/Finance systems.
  • Investigate and resolve breaks or discrepancies identified during reconciliations; escalate unresolved items in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure all Treasury products (e.g., FX, Money Market, Derivatives, Fixed Income) are accurately captured and reflected in the bank’s records.
  • Work closely with Front Office, Back Office, and IT teams to resolve booking issues or system mismatches.
  • Support the month-end closing process, including P&L and balance sheet substantiation for Treasury products.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Participate in systems upgrades, user acceptance testing, and process improvements related to Treasury product control.
  • Document processes to provide comprehensive standard operating procedures for all key controls.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CA, CFA, ACCA) are an advantage.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of the front to back process for Treasury products and their full accounting treatment throughout their lifecycle.
  • Solid accounting and financial analysis skills.
  • Experience with reconciliations and investigation of breaks in financial transactions.
  • High degree of IT literacy. Proficiency in MS Excel and Power BI and experience with Treasury systems (e.g., K+, Murex, Calypso, or similar) is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Analytical mindset with demonstrable problem-solving abilities.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining data confidentiality.
