Senior Procurement Category Manager – Contingent Workforce & RPO

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives across contingent workforce, staffing, RPO, SOW, and VMS/ATS categories
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on market trends, rate benchmarks, supplier strategies, and regulatory considerations (e.g., IR35, co-employment models)
• Drive commercial and operational excellence in MSP and VMS engagements
• Analyze complex datasets to identify cost optimization and supplier performance improvement opportunities
• Run competitive tenders, evaluate proposals, and negotiate commercial and contractual terms
• Structure and draft contracts aligned to client requirements
• Manage strategic supplier relationships and cross-functional stakeholder groups
• Contribute to category strategy and workforce optimization initiatives
• Provide guidance and oversight to junior sourcing professionals

Profile

• University degree or equivalent qualification
• 8+ years of experience in contingent workforce procurement, MSP/RPO environments, or in-house category management
• Strong knowledge of UK and European staffing markets, commercial models, and compliance frameworks (including IR35)
• Hands-on experience with leading VMS and ATS platforms
• Proven ability to manage complex sourcing initiatives and negotiate high-value agreements
• Strong analytical, commercial, and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable operating in dynamic, multi-client environments
