Project Manager – Subsea Cable Installation

Location: London, UK Office (Candidates may be based anywhere in Europe)

Travel: International travel required

Our client is seeking a Project Manager to support the delivery of global subsea cable installation projects, including fibre optic systems. The role involves coordinating offshore and onshore installation activities, managing project schedules and budgets, and acting as a key interface between clients, contractors, and internal teams.

This position would suit a motivated project professional with experience in marine or subsea cable environments who is looking to grow within an international project team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Execution: Lead offshore and onshore installation activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required technical standards.

  • Planning & Scheduling: Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and resource schedules using tools such as MS Project.

  • Budget & Cost Control: Define and monitor project budgets, manage cost reporting, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the main point of contact for clients, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Risk Management: Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Oversee project documentation including procedures, analysis, method statements, and regulatory permits.

  • Team Leadership: Coordinate onshore and offshore project teams while promoting a strong safety culture.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in offshore or subsea cable installation projects

  • Experience working on submarine fibre optic cable installation projects

  • Strong understanding of vessel mobilisation, submarine cable installation, and shore-end operations

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and project scheduling tools such as MS Project

  • Right to work in Europe required

Working Environment

  • UK-based organisation with a European candidate base

  • International travel required for project execution and offshore campaigns

  • Fast-paced project environments involving coordination of complex marine operations
