Opportunity

Our client is a growing business in the renewable energy sector, having a national presence and blue-chip client base. They are looking to expand and are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the existing operations team and are recruiting an experienced Project Manager who can demonstrate a proven track record of leading large-scale electrical/renewable projects across the UK, mainly EV in the first instance.

The role

As a Project Manager, your primary responsibility will be the implementation and delivery of large-scale electrical/renewable projects. Your role will involve ensuring that milestones and key deliverables are achieved throughout a project’s life cycle, and to be completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards, reporting into the Construction Director.

Contract Type

This position offers a 6-month fixed-term contract with moving to permanent following.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Lead all electrical/renewable projects from contract award through to client handover including QITP
  • Develop project programmes, monitor progress and report to client, Directors and the Management Team
  • Set up contracts with the supply chain, negotiate terms and brief the Construction Director
  • Ensure installations are completed by sub-contractors within the programme schedule and budgets as per contract
  • Confident delivery of briefing and coordinating activities on contracts
  • Ensure compliance of quality and safety of works at all times
  • Effective management of multiple sites and respective Site Managers
  • Continuously monitor and maintain excellent levels of H&S and quality on site
  • Create & review RAMS, CPP’s and other H&S documents
  • Full responsibility for the daily operations of the project delivery team
  • Accurate and regular reporting of project performance
  • Attend and report on meetings throughout the project(s)
  • Procure subcontract labour, materials and ancillary items
  • At project completion provide a detailed review of performance against budget, identifying areas for improvement
  • Site surveys and inspections to be undertaken as required
  • Flexible travel to and from sites across UK is required

Skills & experience

  • Minimum 5 years construction project management
  • 18th Edition Electrical Regulations Qualification would be advantageous
  • NVQ or City & Guilds in electrical installation would be advantageous
  • Ability to read and understand electrical designs from specifications and surveys
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
  • Must understand site H&S requirements and demonstrate understanding of current legislation & regulations
  • Experience in groundworks would be advantageous
  • Central Inverter and HV experience would be advantageous
  • ECS card or CSCS
  • Excellent organisation, communication and written skills are essential
  • Qualified 5-day first aider
  • Driving Licence
