Senior Commercial Counsel – 12 month maternity cover FTC

London or Nottingham, UK – 2 days/week

Up to £110,000 + bonus

Aiming for a April 1st start date

A growing technology business are looking to recruit a Senior Commercial Counsel for a 12 month maternity cover appointment. This role will report directly into the firm’s General Counsel.

Responsibilities:

• Commercial Leadership: Lead the commercial contracting function, providing end-to-end legal support across global markets including the UK, US, Europe, and APAC.
• Contract Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of complex commercial agreements (SaaS and affiliate marketing agreements).
• Business Partnership: Act as a strategic advisor to Sales and Business Development teams, managing high-pressure, time-sensitive deal cycles.
• Process Optimization: Continuously audit and improve legal infrastructure, including contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and internal workflows to increase departmental velocity.

Requirements:

• Ideally 6+ years PQE as a Commercial Counsel
• Prior experience in drafting/reviewing/negotiating SaaS and/or affiliate marketing agreements is highly desired
• Prior experience working on a global/international scale is desired
