Job Description:

High-value work. Cross-border exposure. A platform that actually develops you.

A leading international law firm is continuing to invest in the growth of its London office, with a particular focus on expanding its Real Estate Finance capability.

This is a strategic growth hire, forming part of a wider build-out across private capital and finance — not a backfill.

The Role

You will join a well-established but growing team advising on a broad range of real estate finance matters, including:

  • Lender-side and borrower-side financings
  • Investment and development finance transactions
  • Cross-border real estate deals (with strong US and European involvement)
  • Complex, multi-layered financing structures involving multiple stakeholders
  • Transactions involving institutional investors, private equity sponsors, and developers

You will work closely with colleagues across:

  • Corporate Real Estate
  • Private Equity and M&A
  • Funds and wider Finance teams

This provides genuine breadth, allowing you to develop beyond a purely execution-focused finance role.

The Team

The London Real Estate Finance team sits at the centre of the firm’s private capital offering, working on high-quality, often cross-border mandates.

  • Advises across lender, borrower, investor and developer-side work
  • Fully integrated with the firm’s global network
  • Operating in lean deal teams, offering early responsibility
  • Has seen significant growth over the past 18–24 months, with continued investment planned

This is a team where strong performers are given visibility, responsibility, and a clear path forward.

The Opportunity

This role offers a step into a platform where you can:

  • Take on meaningful responsibility earlier in your career
  • Work on complex, high-value transactions with international exposure
  • Develop a broader commercial skillset across finance and real estate
  • Position yourself for senior progression within a growing team

Unlike more rigid or hierarchical environments, this team offers a meritocratic and collaborative culture, where progression is based on performance and contribution.

Candidate Profile

You will ideally have:

  • 2–7 years’ PQE in real estate finance or broader banking/finance with asset-backed exposure
  • Experience acting for lenders, sponsors, developers, or investors
  • Strong technical skills combined with a commercial, solution-led mindset
  • Exposure to cross-border transactions (desirable but not essential)
  • A desire to step into a more dynamic, growth-oriented environment

Applications are welcomed from UK-qualified lawyers as well as those qualified in comparable jurisdictions (e.g. Australia, New Zealand, Ireland).

The Firm

This is a global law firm with a distinct London offering:

  • Lean, high-performing teams rather than volume-driven structures
  • Strong cross-border workflow, particularly with the US and Europe
  • High-quality client base spanning financial institutions, sponsors, and investors
  • A reputation for giving associates early access to clients and complex work

The firm continues to invest in London as a core strategic market, with multiple hires made across corporate, finance, and private capital teams.

If you are looking to move into a higher-quality platform with stronger work, better exposure, and genuine progression, this opportunity is well worth exploring.
