Job Description:

ASL Technical is currently recruiting for a Connected Car Validation Engineer to join a leading automotive programme on an initial 6-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of connected vehicle and telematics technology, supporting end-to-end validation of connected services used within modern vehicles.

 

Contract Rate: £23.47 – £27.94 per hour

Contract Length: 6 months

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end vehicle validation for connected car services, including testing via mobile apps and smartwatches.
  • Ensure test resources and environments are prepared prior to validation activities.
  • Raise and manage incident tickets within the incident management system and track them through to closure.
  • Follow testing methods and procedures aligned with automotive specifications and regulatory requirements to ensure robust telematics validation.
  • Verify that vehicle-level quality, functionality, and reliability standards are maintained following system changes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues.

Background & Experience

 

We are looking for candidates who have a mix of technical knowledge, validation experience, and strong problem-solving ability:

  • Experience in automotive validation (beneficial but not essential).
  • Practical knowledge of problem-solving tools and techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to changing priorities and working practices.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (typically a few days to 2 weeks, occasionally longer or short notice).
  • Valid UK or European driving licence (essential).
  • Experience with Python programming.
  • Familiarity with JIRA.
