Location: Slough

We are currently recruiting for a Shift Manager to join a high-profile, mission-critical data centre campus in Slough.

This is a leadership role within a live critical environment, responsible for coordinating shift teams, overseeing maintenance delivery, and ensuring all operations meet strict SLA/KPI and compliance standards.

Package

• 64,890 basic salary
• 4,800 shift allowance
• 8% client-paid bonus
• Annual salary increases (circa 3-4%)
• Overtime at 1.5x and 2.0x

The Role

You’ll act as the technical and operational lead on shift, taking full ownership of site activities and team performance within a live data centre environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and coordinating shift engineers across planned and reactive maintenance
• Acting as Authorised Person for HV systems and safe system of work
• Managing permit systems, RAMS, SOPs and EOPs
• Responding to BMS alarms and managing incident escalation
• Ensuring compliance with L8 water hygiene standards
• Supervising subcontractors and ensuring safe delivery of works
• Maintaining accurate records (REALM / task systems)
• Driving team performance, training, and development
• Acting as the primary escalation point for all on-shift technical issues

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a data centre or critical environment (essential)
• Previous experience in a Shift Lead / Supervisor / Manager position
• HV Authorised Person status (strongly preferred)
• Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Electrical / Mechanical discipline
• Strong understanding of BMS, PMS, Fire & critical systems
• Experience managing incidents in live environments
• Knowledge of permit systems, RAMS, and compliance processes
• Confident leading teams in a high-pressure, 24/7 environment

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• IPAF / PASMA
• First Aid at Work
