We are recruiting for a Service Engineer to join a leading OEM specialising in packaging machinery. The company manufactures and services equipment including VFFS, HFFS, flow wrap machines, multi-head weighers, and related systems.
Role Overview
This is an electrically biased role requiring a minimum Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering. You will work on industrial packaging machinery within the food industry, supporting installations, commissioning, and service activities across customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with servo drives and electrical control systems
- Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams
- Working on three-phase machinery in industrial environments
- Site visits primarily within the food industry
- Wiring and rewiring machinery
- PLC fault finding and diagnostics
- Using digital voltage meters
- Working with sensors, actuators, and inverters
- Carrying out installation, commissioning, and service work
Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- Experience working with industrial machinery
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently at customer sites
- Willingness to stay away from home 2–3 nights per week on average
Package & Benefits
- Basic Salary: £45,000 – £48,000
- Overtime: £25 per hour
- OTE: £70,000+
- Working Hours: 45 hours per week
