Anderson Knight are partnering our client based in Glagow who specialise within the Civils/utility sector, they are looking to appoint anHSE/Compliance Manager.
The role will be to ensure the organisation remains fully compliant with all statutory and regulatory requirements relating to gas and electrical safety. The role is responsible for managing compliance programmes, overseeing inspections, and ensuring the safety of residents, staff, and assets.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Management
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant gas and electrical safety legislation and standards (e.g. Gas Safety Regulations, Electrical Safety Standards).
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
- Monitor legislative changes and update internal processes accordingly.
- Manage planned and cyclical inspection programmes (e.g. annual gas safety checks, EICRs).
- Ensure 100% compliance with servicing and inspection deadlines.
- Oversee contractors delivering compliance works.
- Procure and manage external contractors and service providers.
- Monitor contractor performance against KPIs and SLAs.
- Liaise with internal teams, tenants/residents, and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and audit trails.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead internal audits and support external inspections.
- Lead investigations into compliance failures or safety incidents.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented and tracked.
- Report serious incidents in line with statutory requirements.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in gas and/or electrical compliance management.
- Strong knowledge of UK safety regulations and standards.
- Experience managing contractors and compliance programmes.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in social housing, facilities management, or property services.
- Knowledge of asset management systems.
- Experience preparing for regulatory audits.
Qualifications
- Relevant technical qualification in gas, electrical, or building services.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (desirable but often expected).
- NEBOSH or IOSH Health & Safety qualification.
