Job Description:

A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced electrical maintenance engineer to join a leading manufacturing company.

Job Description:

  • Maintaining, servicing and repairing plant, machinery and equipment, responding to both emergency breakdowns and planned preventive maintenance
  • Fault finding and diagnosing electrical and mechanical failures to minimise downtime
  • Maintaining and modifying equipment to ensure it remains safe, reliable and efficient
  • Measuring and monitoring the performance of mechanical and electrical components, devices and machines
  • Installing, commissioning and testing machinery, plant and systems
  • Undertaking test procedures and inspections in line with legislation and company standards
  • Providing technical advice and support to colleagues and management
  • Recommending and implementing modifications and improvements to production machinery
  • Working to British (BS), European (EN) and other relevant engineering standards
  • Ensuring full compliance with company health, safety and environmental policies
  • Actively participating in quality, environmental and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Liaising effectively with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties as directed by the Head of Engineering or senior engineering management

Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:

  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding within an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Sensors – installation, testing, calibration and troubleshooting
  • Silo reader systems (e.g. level sensors, proximity readers or similar instrumentation)
  • Single phase and three phase electrical systems
  • Electric motors – installation, maintenance, alignment and fault diagnosis
  • Gearboxes – servicing, maintenance, replacement and condition assessment
  • 17th or 18th Edition
  • A working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Steam and/or boiler systems – basic operational knowledge or previous exposure would be advantageous
