Conventional Machinist

Conventional machinist/Turner Due to further expansion – this growing business who specialise in the repair of rotating equipment including electric motors, pumps and gearboxes is seeking an experienced Conventional Turner/Machinist.  You will be responsible for: –

• Conventional turning and milling using manual machinery.
• The use of conventional machines and other machines to manufacturer new parts
• Working on small batch parts and taking responsibility of measuring worn or broken parts
• Producing new parts taking into consideration bearing tolerances and machine threats
• General bench fitting duties may be some of your responsibility.
• On call work – one in four
• General repair of rotating machines, electric motors, pumps and gearboxes would be ideal.

To apply you will be: –

• An experienced manual/conventional machinist/turner (NOT CNC)
• General bench fitting experience would be ideal.
• Must be available to be on call one week a month
• Overtime available subject to workload
• Experience of repairing rotating machines, electric motors, pumps & gearboxes would be ideal
• Sound Engineering knowledge and a positive attitude
• Flexibility, as overtime required often at short notice.
