Job Description

The Senior Manager, Cross-Border (XB) for Europe plays a central role in delivering Europe’s cross-border growth agenda. The role is responsible for operationalising regional XB priorities, driving execution rigor, and ensuring consistent delivery across clusters and markets. As a core member of Europe’s XB Centre of Excellence, the role owns the operating rhythm underpinning Europe’s XB strategy, including governance cadence, initiative coordination, performance tracking, and enablement materials, working closely with cluster teams and cross-functional partners.

Key Responsibilities

Europe XB Execution & Decision Readiness

  • Translate Europe XB priorities into clear execution plans, initiatives, and milestones
  • Maintain a forward-looking view of Europe XB activity, identifying upcoming decisions, risks, and execution inflection points
  • Prepare structured analysis, options, and recommendations to enable effective XB decision-making

Regional XB Execution & Delivery

  • Coordinate delivery of Europe XB initiatives across clusters and functions, ensuring momentum, dependency management, and issue resolution
  • Act as the first line of resolution on execution issues, escalating where appropriate with clear recommendations

Travel, Key Corridors & Visa Destinations Enablement

  • Drive Visa Destinations execution in partnership with Destination markets
  • Partner directly with GCC, LAC, China and North America to drive aligned execution agenda for key travel corridors

XB Centre of Excellence & Enablement

  • Own Europe XB enablement assets, including dashboards, scorecards, templates, narratives, and playbooks, e.g. In conjunction with Product, RCO own Travel CVP and its updates, alignment and trainings to the markets
  • Maintain and evolve self-service tools to support consistent XB execution across clusters
  • Support development and rollout of XB sales plays in partnership with clusters and cross-functional teams

Measurement & Localization

  • Partner with Analytics, Marketing, and Product to embed consistent measurement and tracking for XB initiatives
  • Own Europe’s localization mitigation agenda through tracking, analysis, and structured reviews
  • Contribute to capability building across cluster XB teams through tools, guidance, and best-practice sharing

Reporting Line

Reports into the Head of Cross-Border, Europe, with close working alignment to Global Cross-Border teams and regional functions.

Qualifications

  • Experience in payments, financial services, strategy, or commercial roles with a strong execution focus
  • Demonstrated ability to drive complex, cross-functional initiatives across multiple markets
  • Strong analytical and structuring skills, with the ability to produce executive-ready materials
  • Comfortable operating in a matrixed, global organization and managing multiple stakeholders
