Location: Plymouth
Job Description:

Please note, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship and we can only consider applicants with existing right to work in the UK.

This is an exciting time to join the Integrated Commissioning Team at Plymouth City Council. Our team supports the commissioning of services for vulnerable adults, children and families in the city. We are a strong, inclusive and friendly team and have a supportive, open and honest culture and value opportunities to do things differently. We are looking for people to join our team who value and thrive in this type of environment.

This Commissioning Officer role is a fantastic opportunity and will include supporting the commissioning, contract monitoring and quality assurance of services, improving the outcomes of vulnerable children and their families. You will be working within a varied portfolio of services. This role will focus primarily on our services for vulnerable children, young people and their families, including early intervention and prevention services in the community as well as long-term support services. The current strategic priorities include the Department for Education’s Family First Partnership, national SEND Reform and the Family Homes for Plymouth Children programme. We have a strong focus on engaging with the community and co-production is at the heart of what we do.

If you have excellent people skills, a commitment to improving services for vulnerable people and love to work with data and insight, this could be the role for you. If you have experience in a similar role across a local authority or health setting, even better!

This is a full time (37 hours per week) hybrid role, with opportunity to work from both home and the office base (Crownhill Court). Regular travel to visit local services (e.g. children’s homes and independent special schools and short break settings) is also required.

As Britain’s Ocean City, Plymouth is a vibrant place to live and work, with access to the moors and shores along with a bustling city centre including excellent cultural opportunities including the Theatre Royal and The Box.
