DevOps Engineer

A global-leading investment management firm is continuing to grow its engineering footprint in London and is looking to hire a DevOps Engineer on an initial 12-month contract.

With significant investment in technology and ambitious expansion plans, the London team is scaling quickly.

This role sits within a core platform engineering group responsible for building and supporting hybrid cloud infrastructure that underpins trading and investment systems across the region.

This opportunity is well suited to an engineer who enjoys hands-on platform work, contributing to new builds, and operating in an environment where ownership, pace, and collaboration with stakeholders are key.

What You’ll Do:

• Build and enhance AWS-based infrastructure with a focus on performance, resilience, and scalability.
• Define and manage infrastructure using Terraform across evolving platform environments.
• Support and develop Kubernetes (EKS) platforms for containerised applications.
• Write Python-based tooling and automation to improve operational efficiency and developer experience.
• Contribute to the build-out of new platform capabilities as the London team continues to expand.
• Work closely with engineers and business users to deliver practical, production-ready solutions.
• Take responsibility for delivering technical workstreams end-to-end.

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud, &/or platform engineering.
• Strong practical experience with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes (ideally EKS).
• Proficiency in Python for scripting/coding, tooling, or automation.
• Experience working in environments where systems are being built or scaled.
• A proactive, self-driven approach with the ability to take initiative.
• Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with a range of stakeholders.
• Exposure to financial services is a plus, but not a requirement.
