We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Relationship Manager. Our Commercial Banking business serves over a million customers across more than 50 markets, ranging from small enterprises focused primarily on their home markets, through to corporates operating across borders. Whether it is working capital, term loans, trade finance or payments and cash management solutions, we provide the tools and expertise that businesses need to thrive. Through Business Banking our global network offers comprehensive support and services to businesses in the SME market. From expanding overseas to managing the cash and trade flows of an established enterprise, the Business Banking team of Relationship Managers and Product Specialists provide a range of end‑to‑end solutions designed to help small businesses reach their potential.
You’ll provide a dedicated customer service to a portfolio of clients with accountability for sales, service, risk and operational delivery. You’ll work with both external and internal stakeholders, including Sales, Product Development and Risk and Compliance teams.
Responsibilities
- Have face‑to‑face meetings with SME clients and manage a portfolio of up to 70 clients.
- Manage a portfolio income of approximately £1.5m‑£2m and serve SME clients with a £2m‑£15m turnover.
- Drive revenue growth by understanding customer needs and adopting a needs‑based approach that engages clients and increases new business.
- Grow the business sustainably by identifying opportunities to expand the portfolio and broaden client relationships through a vast network.
- Build a strong understanding of clients’ businesses and industries to promote insights, enrich conversations, and deliver fair outcomes.
- Conduct comprehensive credit risk assessments and customer due diligence reviews.
- Cover the Kent and East Sussex regions.
Qualifications
- Experience working in relevant environments, i.e., Business/Corporate Banking or Financial Services.
- Commercial Banking experience is advantageous.
- Proven ability to identify and meet customer needs.
- Experience with commercial credit and lending is advantageous.
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service and proactively improving it.
- Proven ability to build effective networks across business areas and develop relationships based on trust.
- Comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience ensuring compliance with regulatory processes.
