Role – Process Control Engineer (Inside IR35)
Location – Lisburn
This person will join the Monitoring and Diagnostics team whose mission is to develop state of the art monitoring technologies, generally deployed in an Electrical Substation, allowing a customer to understand and optimize the operating condition of their Electrical Power Transformers, circuit breakers and other substation assets.
The candidate will be responsible for delivering a wide range of projects to support the growth of our business, improve and/or develop global supply chain processes and to improve product quality by using lean and 6 sigma approach and effectively working in a cross-functional environment.
Responsibilities
- New Product Introduction (NPI) Project planning and execution of tasks to set timeline
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management.
- Lead the development and execution of process validation plans, including Design of Experiments (DOE), Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and statistical process control (SPC).
- Collaborate with the product development team during the design and prototyping stages to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide input on design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) and design for test (DFT).
- Improve H&S and ergonomics in production cells.
- Learn and apply lean tools and techniques.
- Develop and implement process improvement through assembly and test automation.
- Create, review and update process documentation as required.
- Analysis of existing processes and execution of improvements.
- Root cause analysis of reported production and process issues.
- Collaborate with the quality team to establish quality control measures, standards, and procedures.
- Collaborate with production teams to provide support in troubleshooting manufacturing problems.
- Review production line layout and re‑structuring.
- Support daily production activities.
Qualifications
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
- Degree in Engineering/Science (preferably Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical and Mechanical, but all considered).
- Competency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
- Demonstrated time management capability.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment or independently on multiple projects with strict completion deadlines.
- Good writing skills, accuracy and an eye for detail.
Desired Criteria
- Previous industrial work experience.
- Ability to collaborate across various functions and levels within the operations team.
- Confidence in programming in Excel and managing or developing databases/macros.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Familiar with programming language example LabVIEW.
- Familiar with general purpose test equipment.
