Zest4Talent is recruiting for a Project Engineer in Watford to join a leading organisation within the built environment, construction and engineering sector.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on Project Engineer to work on innovative testing, certification and engineering projects, helping to deliver safer, more sustainable buildings across the UK.
About the Role
As a Project Engineer, you will take ownership of projects from initial client brief through to delivery and final reporting. This role combines engineering, project management and technical analysis, making it ideal for someone looking to develop within the construction or built environment industry.
You will be based in Watford (Garston) with hybrid working, attending the office three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage engineering projects from concept through to completion
- Interpret technical specifications, standards and client requirements
- Deliver testing and certification projects within the built environment
- Analyse technical data, measurements and test results
- Produce detailed technical reports and documentation
- Coordinate subcontractors and liaise with clients
- Ensure compliance with UK standards and accredited procedures
- Support development of new testing methods and solutions
- Manage project timelines, budgets and deliverables
Requirements
- Experience as a Project Engineer in the UK construction or built environment sector
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Ability to interpret technical standards and specifications
- Experience analysing data and producing technical reports
- Good understanding of engineering principles related to buildings
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Desirable Skills
- Experience in testing, certification or consultancy environments
- Knowledge of UKAS or regulated environments
- Exposure to structural engineering, product testing or laboratory environments
