Build a US market function from London
At Harnham, we’ve been specialists in Data & AI recruitment for nearly two decades, operating across the UK, US, and Europe.
Over the past year, we’ve built a London-based team focused on the US market, working closely with our New York office and delivering high-value, retained work across the East Coast.
This team is already performing strongly. We’re now looking for a Director to take it to the next stage, scaling a proven function into a major part of the business.
The Opportunity
You’ll step into an established, high-performing team of experienced consultants, with the opportunity to:
- Own and scale a US-focused recruitment function from London
- Lead across both permanent and contract markets
- Drive commercial growth and client strategy in one of our highest-value regions
- Build out the team over time, with full support from internal recruitment
You’ll work closely with UK leadership and our US offices, with real influence over how this function evolves.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and developing a team of experienced recruiters
- Driving growth through new business and expansion of key accounts
- Owning senior client relationships across the US market
- Setting direction on team structure, market focus, and growth strategy
- Partnering with internal recruitment to scale headcount over time
- Operating in a player-coach capacity, particularly in the early stages

Who We’re Looking For
We’re open on exact levelling (Associate Director through to Director), but you’ll need to be able to make an immediate impact.
You’ll have:
- Experience in agency recruitment, with exposure to the US market
- A track record of leading or building high-performing teams
- Strong business development and client ownership experience
- A commercial mindset with the ability to scale accounts and drive revenue growth
- The credibility to lead experienced consultants
Experience within Data, Technology, or another specialist market is preferred.
Package
- Uncapped commission (up to 30%)
- Team-based earnings as you grow the function
- Long-term incentives (LTIP) aligned to performance and tenure
