Activity Co-ordinator

Salary*: £13.79 per hour plus incentives (*from 01.04.2026 – £14.13 per hour).

Location: Oxendon House Care Home, Great Oxendon, LE16 8NE.

Hours: Full time 9.30 am to 4.30 pm, 5 shifts per week including weekend working.

About Oxendon House Care Home

Oxendon House is located in the quaint village of Great Oxendon (3 miles to the south of Market Harborough). The home is set around an attractive country house, which has been selectively extended in keeping with its character. This provides the homeliness that Jasmine seeks for its homes, while still providing modern living accommodation. The home provides personal and dementia care for 43 residents.

Role Responsibilities as an Activity Co-ordinator

  • Plan and organise activities.
  • Good time management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Creative and enthusiastic.
  • Be an ambassador for the company both inside and outside of the home.
  • Contribute to residents’ well‑being through thoughtful, personalised activities and have a weekly plan ready each Monday to bring joy to residents’ lives.
  • Provide support for residents facing confusion or behavioural challenges by employing effective person‑centred distraction techniques and activity baskets and offer one‑to‑one comfort and companionship for residents unable to participate in activities, documenting interactions in their notes.
  • Ensure the activity calendar is uploaded to Facebook each week and visible around the home; post interesting activities on the home’s Facebook page.
  • Keep up to date with new developments in activities and care by attending activities meetings and ensuring our monthly newsletter is completed and displayed around the home and posted onto Facebook.
  • Encourage and involve team members, relatives and friends in the home’s activities by sending communication emails and act as an ambassador for the home, including fund‑raising so that residents can enjoy additional social events. All fund‑raising is matched £‑to‑£ by Jasmine.

Role Requirements as an Activity Co-ordinator

  • At least two years’ relevant experience as an activity co‑ordinator providing activities in a care home or similar environment.
  • Hold an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or Activities, or agree to contractually sign up to work towards one.
  • Must be able to work 35 hours minimum per week, including two weekend days every four weeks.
  • Live within 20 minutes of the home.
