Earn as you learn, combining study for a Level 5 in Plant Operations, with industry experience at the largest independent construction materials group in the UK. As an Apprentice Plant Operative, you’ll be part of the quarry team producing the materials for the construction industry ensuring we deliver high quality products for the customers. You’ll be trained to operate machinery (including dumpers & loading shovels) and how to ensure you maintain the highest level of safety for you and your colleagues at all times. There will be required to attend 3 x 4 week blocks of training in East Anglia in England, which will require you to be residential, for which Breedon will cover the costs of any accommodation, travel and meals. You won’t be spending every day in a clean, corporate office swivelling on an office chair! If you have a natural affinity with the great outdoors, in all weathers, then now we’re talking! National 4 in Maths & English desirable although not essential.* An interest in working in the great outdoors.* Flexibility and the ability to work as part of an effective quarry operational team.* A full UK Driving Licence – during your apprenticeship with us, we want you to experience and see everything we have to offer so you will need to be flexible to travel to other sites.* Flexibility with your working hours which may include weekends and evenings.* You will need to be a minimum age of 18 (by July 2026). you’ll work in a close-knit team, with someone always on hand to offer help.
