Working as a Legal Assistant / Conveyancing Department Administrator you will be integral to the success of the business, providing the Lawyers with essential and pro-active support.

DUTIES
Your duties as a Legal Assistant / Conveyancing Department Administrator include:
Assisting with a varied caseload of residential property transactions, including sales and purchases, re-mortgages and transfers of equity from initial instruction to post-completionBeing that all important first point of contact for the firm’s clients, taking initial enquiries over the telephone and face to face and providing an estimate of costs to the clientAssisting with telephone calls from clients and third partiesUpdating clients and third parties on the progress of each caseOpening electronic files following receipt of instructions from the client. The practice is in the process of working towards achieving a paperless officeMaintaining electronic and physical files so they remain up to dateIssuing contract packsOrdering Land Registry documentsOrdering searchesPreparing exchange and completion lettersDealing with pre-completion searchesSetting up completionsAssisting the team to achieve completion targetsOpening and scanning in post for the officeMaintaining adequate supplies and resources for the officeCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience:
Have recent knowledge and experience working within a conveyancing departmentHave strong communication and client care skills to ensure clients receive an efficient, reliable and friendly service over the telephone, in written correspondence and face to faceBe conscientious, loyal and committed with a strong work ethicDemonstrate initiative and be flexible and proactive in support to the department and the wider office teamBe a team player but also be able to work autonomouslyBe highly organised and methodical to prioritise and manage own workload, whilst maintaining attention to detail under time pressuresHave a working knowledge of a case management systemHave a strong working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeHave excellent typing skillsBe willing to cover other offices if requiredBENEFITS
