Job Purpose
The Senior Compliance Manager will play a key leadership role within the Risk & Compliance function, supporting the Director of Risk & Compliance in overseeing the day-to-day operation of compliance across the business.
The role will provide senior compliance expertise across FCA regulation and a broader range of regulatory topics and jurisdictions, ensuring that the organisation understands and responds appropriately to its regulatory obligations.
A key focus of the role will be shaping and delivering the compliance programme for the business — including developing monitoring and assurance activity, translating regulatory developments into practical business guidance, and supporting senior management through clear and insightful compliance reporting.
This role offers the opportunity to help shape how compliance operates within a growing international organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Framework
- Support the development and implementation of the company’s compliance framework, ensuring policies, controls, and processes remain appropriate to the scale and complexity of the business.
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the compliance function as the business continues to grow.
Regulatory Insight & Horizon Monitoring
- Monitor regulatory developments across FCA regulation relevant jurisdictions and sectors.
- Translate regulatory developments into practical advice for the business, helping senior leaders understand potential impacts and required actions.
Compliance Planning & Assurance
- Lead the development and delivery of the organisation’s compliance plan, ensuring activities are risk-based and aligned to key regulatory priorities.
- Design and oversee monitoring and assurance activity to provide confidence that compliance controls are operating effectively.
Advisory Support
- Provide pragmatic compliance advice to stakeholders across the business on regulatory requirements, new initiatives, and emerging risks.
- Support the review of customer communications and other materials where regulatory oversight is required.
Governance & Reporting
- Produce regular compliance reporting for senior management, providing clear insight into regulatory risks, compliance activity, and key developments.
- Maintain key compliance registers and support regulatory reporting where required.
Team Leadership
- Provide guidance and support to members of the Compliance team.
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex compliance matters.
Qualifications
What You Will Bring
- Strong experience in a compliance, risk, or regulatory role, with a solid understanding of FCA requirements.
- Exposure to other regulatory regimes or international compliance frameworks (desirable).
- Experience interpreting regulatory requirements and applying them within a commercial environment.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory developments into clear, practical advice.
- Experience supporting governance reporting and working with senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience within an FCA-regulated environment.
- Degree or equivalent experience in law, finance, risk, or a related field (desirable).
