The opportunity…
Tropic is a creative studio working across brand, digital and marketing for ambitious organisations across the UK. We’re based in North Wales, on Anglesey (Ynys Môn), but our work is national and our ambitions are growing with it.
We’re looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to help lead the next phase of Tropic’s growth.
This is a key role for us. We need someone who can lead marketing conversations with confidence, turn client ambition into clear strategy, and bring structure to the thinking, planning and delivery behind great work. You’ll be trusted to run strategy sessions, develop marketing and communications plans, and brief our creative team clearly so ideas are translated into focused, effective activity.
You’ll work across both client accounts and Tropic’s own marketing, which makes this a particularly exciting opportunity. It offers the variety and pace of agency life, alongside the chance to influence how our own studio shows up, grows and evolves.
We’re looking for someone with proven agency experience who is ready for their next step and excited by a clear path towards leadership. You’ll work closely with Tropic’s creative and strategic leadership, while taking real ownership of the marketing side of the business day to day. As we continue to grow, this role has genuine scope to help shape our offer, support the growth of the wider team and play a meaningful role in what comes next.
Location and way of working…
We’re based in North Wales on Anglesey (Ynys Môn), and this is a hybrid remote role. We expect the successful candidate to spend a few days per month on-site with the team, with the exact rhythm agreed upon in a way that makes sense for the role.
Ideally, you’ll be based within a couple of hours of the studio so regular in-person time feels realistic and enjoyable. This role is likely to suit someone based in North Wales, the North West or nearby.
We care more about getting the balance right than enforcing something rigid. What matters is that you can build strong working relationships, contribute meaningfully to the team and be present in person when it counts.
Welsh language skills would be a real plus, but they’re not essential.
We’re looking for someone who…
- Has proven experience in an agency environment and is ready for a bigger role with greater ownership
- Is comfortable working with B2B and B2C clients
- Can confidently lead client conversations, strategy sessions and planning discussions, then turn them into clear, actionable marketing plans
- Brings strong hands-on experience across paid media, organic social, SEO, analytics and reporting
- Is comfortable interpreting performance data, drawing useful conclusions and communicating clearly with clients
- Has a strong eye for design, is comfortable with tools such as Adobe, Figma or Canva, and understands that copy, design and strategy should always work together
- Keeps up to date with the latest tools and technology, implementing changes where appropriate
- Works independently, communicates well, takes ownership and brings a calm, commercially aware presence to the team
What you’ll do…
- Lead marketing strategy and planning across a range of client accounts, from early conversations through to delivery and review
- Run workshops and strategy sessions, build communications plans, and turn client goals into clear priorities and briefs for the creative team
- Oversee and optimise marketing activity across paid media, organic social, SEO and content, always with performance and commercial impact in mind
- Set up, manage and refine analytics, tracking and reporting, using data to shape recommendations and build client confidence
- Contribute to Tropic’s own marketing activity and play a leading role in shaping how our marketing offer develops over time
Desirable experience…
- Photography or videography experience
- Welsh language skills
- Understanding of web design and UX best practises, especially for landing pages
Our ideal candidate will…
- Be a strong communicator who builds trust quickly and presents well with clients
- Know how to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery
- Be proactive, self-directed and comfortable taking ownership
- Care deeply about standards, detail and outcomes
- Be excited by growth, responsibility and the opportunity to develop into a future leadership role
Why join Tropic…
We’re small enough for your contribution to genuinely matter, but established enough that you’ll be joining a team with experience, momentum and ambition.
This is a chance to do meaningful work for ambitious clients while also helping shape the future of Tropic itself. You’ll have room to influence, room to grow and the support of a collaborative team that cares about doing good work properly.
For the right person, this is not just another marketing role. It’s an opportunity to help define what comes next.
You’ll receive…
- Salary dependent on experience
- A flexible hybrid working setup
- Pension contribution
- Private healthcare cover
- Gym benefit
- Flexible working policy with a core-hours structure
- 22 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
- Studio-wide Christmas shutdown
- Regular socials and team time together
- Personal development support and progression opportunities
- The opportunity to help shape a growing area of the business
A few things to note…
We’re not looking for someone who wants to sit in a silo and simply manage activity. We’re looking for someone who wants to think, contribute and lead.
This role would suit someone already in an agency who wants more ownership and influence, and the ability to work on meaningful projects without losing the pace, variety and ambition that makes agency life exciting.
You’ll be joining a strong team with established creative and strategic capability already in place. But you’ll also be joining at a point where there is a real opportunity to shape what comes next.
To apply…
Please apply with your CV, cover letter and portfolio.
We’re not especially interested in boring. Show us why you’re the perfect fit for Tropic, why you want this role, and the kind of work, thinking and energy you’d bring to it.
