Security Engineer – Bolton (Full-Time, On-Site)

About Us

Spectra Fire & Security Ltd, based in Bolton, has been protecting commercial clients across the North West since 1990. We design, install, and maintain industry-leading security systems — including CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control — with additional expertise in fire detection and safety systems.

We’re expanding our team and are looking for a skilled Security Engineer to deliver reliable, high-quality service to clients such as councils, schools, and sports clubs.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Install, service, and maintain CCTV, intruder, and access control systems to UK industry standards.

• Diagnose and repair faults efficiently, ensuring compliance and full system functionality.

• Provide friendly, professional customer support on-site and by phone.

• Keep accurate records of all work completed using digital job sheets.

• Travel to sites across the North West (occasional overnight stays may be required).

• (Desirable) Assist with fire alarm and emergency lighting systems when needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Security Engineer (multi-skilled preferred).

• Confident with diagnostics, system programming, and commissioning.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, independent work style.

• Full UK driving licence (essential).

• (Desirable) Knowledge of fire alarms and BS5839 standards.
