Business Development Manager – Key Accounts (Foodservice & Catering)

South East England (Field-Based Territory Role)

£45,000 – £50,000 Basic + Company Car + Uncapped Commission

Full-Time | B2B Sales | Field Sales

About the Opportunity

We are recruiting for a high-performing Business Development Manager – Key Accounts to drive profitable growth within the Foodservice & Hospitality sector, specialising in the supply of catering equipment and commercial kitchen solutions.

This is a field-based role with a strong emphasis on new business development (70%), alongside key account growth (30%), targeting sectors including Healthcare, Education, Hospitality, and Group Purchasing Organisations (GPOs).

You’ll be selling a broad range of catering equipment, including light equipment, heavy equipment, front of house and back of house solutions, helping customers improve operational efficiency and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Identify, target, and win new customers within Foodservice, Hospitality, Healthcare, and Education sectors
  • Sell a full range of commercial catering equipment and kitchen solutions
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline using CRM systems (Caterlyst / Salesforce)
  • Generate leads via cold outreach, networking, social selling, and industry events
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities
  • Deliver a consultative sales approach, tailoring solutions to customer needs

Key Account Management

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of existing key accounts (>£5k spend)
  • Build relationships with Chefs, Buyers, Procurement Teams, F&B Managers, and Business Owners
  • Implement structured account plans and 12-week development cycles
  • Drive revenue growth through cross-selling and upselling across product categories

Commercial Performance

  • Achieve and exceed sales revenue and gross profit (GP) targets
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, reporting, and CRM updates
  • Use data and insights to identify gaps and maximise opportunities

Key Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Business Development Manager / Field Sales Executive / Key Account Manager
  • Strong background in B2B sales within Foodservice, Hospitality, or Catering Equipment
  • Track record of winning new business and exceeding sales targets
  • Experience selling into Healthcare and/or Education sectors
  • Skilled in CRM systems (Salesforce, Caterlyst or similar)
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience selling catering equipment, kitchen solutions, or foodservice supplies
  • Knowledge of NHS, TUCO, or public sector procurement frameworks
  • Established industry contacts within Hospitality or Foodservice
