Head of Project Management

I’m working with a highly specialised engineering and R&D organisation at a pivotal stage of growth.
They are now looking to hire a Head of Project Management, a role that will take ownership of delivery across the business and build a best-in-class PM function from the ground up.
This is not a “maintain the status quo” role.
This is about bringing structure, clarity and performance into a complex, technical environment
Leading and developing a team of Project Managers
And shaping how projects are delivered across the organisation
What you’ll be doing
- Leading and developing a team of Project Managers
- Owning delivery performance across a portfolio of complex engineering programmes
- Building and embedding project governance, processes and reporting frameworks
- Working closely with engineering, commercial and leadership teams
- Acting as the key escalation point for delivery challenges
- Driving consistency, accountability and continuous improvement
What they’re looking for
- Proven experience leading complex engineering or R&D programmes
- Experience managing or mentoring Project Managers
- Strong background in building or improving PM processes and governance
- Comfortable operating in technically complex environments
- Strong stakeholder management, able to challenge and influence at all levels
- A “builder” mindset, someone who can create structure where it doesn’t yet exist
