We are seeking an experienced Fire-Biased Project Manager to lead nationwide fire protection projects, including large-scale programmes of fire door and fire-stopping upgrades across a government estate.
This role combines specialist fire expertise with full lifecycle project delivery, operating within RIBA stages and NEC4 methodologies.
Job Description
We are looking for someone with deep technical fire knowledge – BM Trada, UK fire regulations and fire remediation standards – who can manage complex, multi-site works while maintaining safety, compliance, cost control and high-quality stakeholder communication.
Project management methods can be taught; fire expertise is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute and oversee nationwide fire protection projects focused on fire doors and compartmentation.
- Lead multiple interlinked disciplines and cross-functional delivery teams.
- Act as the primary liaison between client stakeholders, account leadership and internal teams.
- Convert high-level programmes into actionable, compliant project plans.
- Manage reporting, progress updates, steering groups and stakeholder expectations.
- Oversee resource allocation, interdependencies, contractors and supply partners.
- Ensure full compliance with NEC4, RIBA, CDM and national fire safety regulations.
- Lead audits, quality reviews and continuous improvement activity across the portfolio.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Strong fire safety background (BM Trada, fire stopping, fire doors) – essential.
- In-depth knowledge of UK fire regulations and approved remediation methods.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction specifications.
- Relevant fire safety certifications (CFSP, FSCT, FIRAS) preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
