Teaching Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive primary school in Rotherham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a nurturing environment.

You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across the primary age range, helping to create an engaging and inclusive classroom where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning in the classroom under the direction of the class teacher
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
• Assist in preparing classroom resources and activities
• Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND where required
• Promote positive behaviour and a safe learning environment
• Help with supervision during break times, trips, and school activities

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Experience working with children (school-based experience desirable)
• A caring, patient, and positive attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A good standard of English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent)
• A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) – desirable but not essential
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
