Northampton – up to £60,000 + Benefits – Senior HR Business Partner
The ONE Group are partnering exclusively with a well-established, rapidly evolving operational business to recruit a Senior HR Business Partner.
This is a key, site-based role working closely with a senior leadership team, where you will play a central part in shaping both the people strategy and operational delivery.
This position will suit someone who enjoys being embedded within the business influencing at a senior level while remaining hands-on, particularly across Employee Relations and workforce challenges.
The Role
Acting as a true business partner to senior stakeholders, you will:
- Align people strategy with operational and commercial objectives, ensuring HR is embedded within day-to-day business decision making
- Provide clear, pragmatic HR guidance across organisational design, workforce planning, and business change initiatives
- Lead on complex Employee Relations matters end-to-end, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management and performance issues
- Act as an escalation point for high-risk or sensitive ER cases, balancing commercial outcomes with legal compliance
- Coach, challenge and upskill managers to improve capability and confidence in handling people matters
- Drive a high-performance culture through effective performance management frameworks and leadership support
- Partner with leadership to identify capability gaps, building targeted development and succession plans
- Support workforce planning activity, including headcount modelling, peak planning and resource optimisation
- Lead and deliver organisational change initiatives, including restructures, transformations and changes to operating models
- Assess organisational readiness for change, identifying risks, resistance and capability gaps, and implementing mitigation plans
- Develop and deliver clear communication plans to support engagement and adoption of change across the workforce
- Use HR data and insight (e.g. attrition, absence, engagement, productivity) to identify trends and influence decision making
- Drive initiatives to improve retention, engagement and overall workforce effectiveness
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders to ensure HR delivery is aligned, realistic and commercially focused
- Ensure all HR activity is compliant with UK employment legislation and internal policies
- Build strong, credible relationships across the site, acting as a visible and trusted HR presence within the operation
About You
We are looking for a commercially minded HR professional who is confident operating in a fast-paced, operational environment.
You will bring:
- Experience at Senior HRBP / HRBP / HR Manager level within logistics, supply chain or a similar operational setting
- Strong Employee Relations expertise, with the confidence to manage complex casework end-to-end
- Experience working within high-volume, multi-site environments
- Ability to influence and partner effectively with senior operational stakeholders
- A pragmatic, commercially focused approach to HR
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation
- CIPD Level 5+ (or equivalent experience)
