Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Contract – Central London – Outside IR35 – 6 Months

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established design consultancy renowned for delivering high-quality MEP engineering solutions. This is a 6-month contract role, operating outside IR35, based in Central London.

Due to a growing project portfolio, we are actively seeking a skilled engineer to support the delivery of a large scale commercial office project.

The Role:

• Develop detailed mechanical designs in line with client briefs
• Perform mechanical building services calculations
• Assist in producing mechanical specifications and schedules
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations
• Provide expert technical support and advice across the project lifecycle
• Prepare technical statements and reports as required

Essential Requirements:

• Proven background in HVAC design and mechanical building services
• Strong knowledge of current building regulations and standards
• Previous experience working on commercial office projects
• Proficient in conducting site surveys, heat load calculations, and ventilation/steam system design
• Competent in using design software, especially Hevacomp
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Effective communicator with strong report writing and presentation skills
• Self-motivated, driven, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Supervisory experience is highly desirable
