Mechanical Desgin Engineer

Location: GlasgowSalary: Up to 45,000 (depending on experience)

First Achieve is seeking a skilled and hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Glasgow. This role combines fabrication design with on-site surveying, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both technical design work and practical.

What You’ll Do

• Produce detailed fabrication drawings and designs based on client requirements
• Visit client sites to carry out surveys, take accurate measurements, and assess project needs
• Liaise directly with clients to clarify specifications and ensure design accuracy
• Work closely with fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
• Support projects from concept through to production and installation

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in mechanical design, ideally within fabrication or manufacturing
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when conducting site measurements
• Willingness to travel to client sites as part of the role
• Good communication skills and a professional approach with clients
• Full UK driving licence
