Smoke Alarm Monitoring Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking two Smoke Alarm Monitoring Officers to support housing safety operations. The role involves testing and maintaining LD3 smoke alarm systems primarily within communal areas of residential street properties. The successful candidates will also conduct inspections, identify potential fire risks, and ensure communal spaces remain compliant with fire safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test and monitor LD3 smoke alarm systems located in communal areas.
• Install Grade F LD3 smoke alarms where required.
• Diagnose and resolve minor faults with smoke alarm equipment (non-electrical).
• Carry out inspections of communal areas and accurately record findings.
• Remove any items that present an immediate fire risk.
• Work safely using stepladders and at height when required.

Requirements:

• Experience with smoke alarm systems or property safety inspections.
• Ability to work at height and use stepladders safely.
• Good attention to detail and reporting skills.
• Full UK driving licence required.
