Finance Assistant – 2 days onsite in the London Soho office (ideally Tue & Thurs)

About The Role

They’re looking for a detail-oriented and organised Finance Assistant to join the growing team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping the finance operations running smoothly by supporting accounting, reporting, and administrative functions. You don’t need to have a traditional background in gaming – what matters most is your drive, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. What you’ll be doing

  • Accounts Receivable
    • Process royalty statements in Xero for self-billing platforms
    • Generate invoices for non-self-billing customers, referencing received royalty statements or contractual milestones
    • Conduct credit control procedures for non-self-billing customers
    • Perform reconciliation of bank receipts
  • Accounts Payable
    • Generate overhead purchase orders in Approvalmax
    • Review and process invoices in Approvalmax, ensuring accurate matching with corresponding purchase orders
    • Coordinate and prepare weekly payment runs
    • Reconcile all bank and credit card transactions within Xero
    • Monitor the Accounts mailbox and respond promptly to internal and external inquiries
    • Submit vendor payments through
    • Ensure timely completion of all statutory payments by their respective due dates
  • Payroll & Expenses
    • Monitor and process employee expenses, ensuring alignment with internal expense policy
    • Process salary and expense payments in
  • Month end
    • Reconcile all bank accounts at the end of each month
    • Post all monthly transactions by the designated month-end deadline
    • Post intercompany invoices
    • Post and reconcile merchandise transactions from Shopify and Paypal
  • Cash management
    • Oversee cash balances to ensure compliance with Playstack’s cash management policy
    • Support the preparation of short-term cash flow forecasts
  • Other
    • Provide support for interim and year-end audits
    • Perform administrative duties, such as managing mail

What you’ll bring

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (ideally Xero)
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

It’s a Bonus If You Also Have:

  • A degree or qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or working toward one)
  • Prior experience in a finance or accounting support role
  • Experience with the above mentioned financial systems
  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping and financial principles
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally within a finance role
