DWF is seeking a proactive and experienced Team Manager to join our Corporate Claims team. This key leadership role is responsible for managing a team and overseeing the end‑to‑end claims process to ensure timely, accurate resolutions and exceptional service for our corporate clients and insurer partners.
You will provide technical oversight across both casualty and motor claims, approving strategy, guiding key decisions, and driving performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs. A crucial part of the role is building and maintaining strong relationships with corporate clients and internal stakeholders, supporting client retention and contributing to the continued growth of the account.
The role is hybrid, with office attendance required in Leeds a minimum of 2 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the team on a day‑to‑day basis, including workload allocation, capability and licence oversight, coaching, regular 1:1s, appraisals, and absence management, ensuring strong service coverage and a high‑performing team culture.
- Provide technical supervision and expert guidance across casualty and motor caseloads, ensuring robust strategy, high‑quality work, and strong outcomes for corporate clients.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with corporate clients and key stakeholders, acting as a trusted point of contact and supporting both client retention and account growth.
- Oversee end‑to‑end claims handling from notification through to resolution, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and client‑specific standards.
- Work collaboratively with insurers, counsel, and internal teams to progress claims efficiently, including approving strategies, payments, and referrals to litigation, fraud, large loss, or jurisdictional teams where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records and electronic files, ensuring full KPI/SLA compliance and clear audit trails.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk and enhance claims outcomes.
- Monitor volumes, live hire, portal performance, and retention, ensuring new instructions are allocated effectively to maintain balanced capacity and consistent service delivery.
What will help you succeed in this role?Essential
- Proven experience in claims management, preferably in motor or casualty.
- Strong understanding of insurance principles and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
- Proficiency in claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable
- Experience with bordereaux reporting and insurer liaison.
- Familiarity with internal claims handling for law firms or corporate entities.
