Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Transducer Test Engineer to join an Electromechanical Design team working on advanced underwater acoustic technologies. This is a hands-on, versatile role supporting both existing products and calibration equipment used across UK and international operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-air and in-water acoustic and electrical testing
  • Analyse test data and produce detailed reports, including findings and root cause analysis
  • Use specialist laboratory equipment to measure sound pressure levels, frequency response, noise, and vibration
  • Develop and execute test procedures to meet acoustic, electrical, and environmental standards
  • Support and improve existing underwater acoustic products and calibration systems
  • Communicate test results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Liaise with production teams to support acoustic processes and implement improvements
  • Assist with prototype build, evaluation, and testing of new subsea transducer designs
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and certifications

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of underwater acoustics and transducer fundamentals
  • Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability xwzovoh to analyse and interpret test data
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Practical mechanical engineering experience, including prototype assembly and testing
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office

Desirable

  • Experience developing laboratory software or test tools
  • Background in quality control or test engineering environments

Qualifications

  • Degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Engineering (BEng/BSc minimum or equivalent)
