Mechanical Engineer / Solidworks Engineer

Mechanical Engineer Permanent, Full-time Inchinnan, Hybrid Were looking for two mechanical engineers to deliver innovative design solutions and provide through‑life engineering support across the JFD product range. Experience with commercial or military diving equipment or dive systems is a strong advantage, and familiarity with submarines or submersibles would also be highly beneficial. Experience designing, surveying or constructing large steel structures and / or pressure vessels would be an advantage Assess technical queries and provide engineering design for new products and support existing product range. – Liaise with internal JFD departments such as sales, procurement, and production to ensure the best technical solution is provided in all instances. – Creation and checking of engineering documentation such as manufacturing drawings, specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certification and reports. – Ensuring engineering solutions are provided on time and on budget.– Site visits to other JFD offices, client assets and suppliers as and when required. Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent industry experience. – Be able to work with DFA (Design for Assembly) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing). – Manufacture of prototype components and take design from concept to validation. – Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques. – Good knowledge of gas and fluid systems.– Knowledge of Fabrication methods and best practices.
