Sales Manager – Solutions / Outsourced Services

Birmingham, West Midlands

circa £50,000 Basic + Car Allowance + Commission + Benefits

The Opportunity

A high-growth, innovative business is seeking an experienced Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to drive expansion across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for a solutions-led sales professional with a background in outsourced services, payroll, pensions, or employee benefits to join a business offering a disruptive, value-driven proposition.

You will play a pivotal role in new business generation, consultative selling, and revenue growth, targeting organisations looking to enhance payroll efficiency, employee engagement, and benefits delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end sales cycle: lead generation, qualification, proposal, negotiation, and close
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline across multiple sectors
  • Deliver consultative, solutions-based sales presentations to senior stakeholders (CEO, CFO, Finance Director, Business Owners)
  • Identify and win new business opportunities within outsourced payroll, pensions, and employee benefits
  • Manage and grow a defined territory and client portfolio
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets, KPIs, and revenue objectives
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and leadership teams
  • Contribute to go-to-market strategy, market expansion, and product evolution
  • Maintain accurate CRM management, reporting, and forecasting

About You

  • Proven track record in B2B sales / solutions sales / consultative selling
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience selling complex service-based solutions
  • Strong background in outsourced services, payroll, pensions, HR solutions, or employee benefits (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrable success in new business development and pipeline generation
  • Ability to communicate complex financial and technical solutions in a clear, compelling way
  • Commercially astute with strong numeracy and financial understanding (VAT, tax, cashflow models advantageous)
  • Highly organised with excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Confident engaging with C-suite and senior decision-makers
  • Strong CRM usage, reporting, and sales forecasting experience
  • Professional, driven, and results-oriented with high personal integrity

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree or HND in Business, Finance, Economics, Law, or Mathematics
