SEN Class Teacher – Schools Across Nottingham

Location: Nottingham

Contract: Long-term / Permanent opportunities available

Start Date: Immediate (or flexible for the right candidate)

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Milk Education is currently working with a range of specialist SEN schools across Nottingham who are seeking passionate and dedicated SEN Class Teachers to join their teams.

This is a fantastic opportunity for qualified teachers who are committed to supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs, including autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, and moderate to complex learning difficulties. You will play a key role in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support pupils with a range of SEN, including ASC and SEMH.
  • Create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress in line with EHCP targets.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals.
  • Manage behaviour effectively using positive and consistent strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils to support both academic and emotional development.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching within an SEN, SEMH, or specialist setting (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Ability to differentiate effectively to meet a wide range of learning needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
