Bag-in-Box® is a sustainable choice of packaging for many industries such as wine, juice, liquid eggs, dairy and also non-food applications such as motor oil and chemicals. Our Vitop® Original tap is the most commonly used for Bag-in-Box® wines and juices in the world for its exceptional and consistent quality – with a leak rate of less than 1 in 85 million since its launch.
We are seeking a results-driven, proactive, and highly skilled Technical Sales & Business Development Bag-in-Box to join our UK and Ireland team. This role combines strategic commercial leadership with hands-on operational execution.
You will be responsible for driving sustainable growth across the region by shaping our commercial strategy, developing robust projections and forecasts, and identifying long-term business opportunities. At the same time, you will be deeply involved in the day-to-day operational aspects of business development starting from nurturing customer relationships, managing projects, resolving issues, and ensuring that every initiative moves from concept to successful delivery.
A core part of your mission will be to support customers with end-to-end packaging solutions, including Bag-in-Box packaging, filling machines, corrugated boxes, industrialization, and so on. You will coordinate the full development cycle, acting as a project partner who ensures seamless execution from the initial brief through implementation and post-launch optimization.
The ideal candidate brings a strong sales background in the packaging sector, along with sharp analytical skills and a hands-on attitude. You communicate with impact, able to negotiate effectively, and are comfortable operating within a decentralized organization. You combine strategic thinking with the ability to roll up your sleeves, take ownership, and turn opportunities into tangible commercial results.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer development projects end-to-end, delivering complete packaging solutions that integrate filling machines, corrugated boxes, industrialisation, and Bag-in-Box systems.
- Grow the Bag-in-Box market share in the UK and Ireland by identifying new opportunities, generating leads, and supporting the preparation of bids, proposals, and technical-commercial offers.
- Lead development of New Markets in coordination with New Markets Development Team.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, whether directly or through reseller partners, ensuring high levels of service, responsiveness, and long-term customer satisfaction
- Drive market prospecting efforts in collaboration with Marketing and R&D, identifying emerging needs and contributing to the development of new products, applications, and commercial initiatives.
- Lead customer negotiations and manage project coordination, including contract reviews, technical discussions, and the follow-up of deliverables, timelines, and key milestones.
- Work cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations to support innovation and ensure the successful implementation of customer projects.
- Participate in commercial activities such as customer visits, business reviews (including joint activities with the Corrugated division), industry events, and trade fairs.
- Monitor sales performance and customer feedback, providing regular reporting and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support the UK & Ireland sales team with selected administrative and commercial tasks to ensure operational efficiency and a consistently high level of customer service
We are looking for someone who:
- Brings extensive sales development experience within the packaging industry.
- Project management experience
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate strategies and objectives into actionable plans and effectively leverage systems and AI tools.
- Excellent communication skills: ability to send and receive information clearly and concisely.
- Superior presentation skills, both in development of compelling stories and in presenting them at all levels within customer and internal organization.
- Decisive, action-oriented, and able to manage deliverables effectively. Strong sense of ownership and flexibility when operational challenges occur.
- High attention to detail and proven ability to autonomously manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Understands and actively drives innovation, with strong awareness of sustainability and environmental considerations.
- Enjoys finding solutions to problems and has a hands-on mentality.
- Energy and drive to motivate positive change within the team.
Additional information:
- Extensive travel across UK and Ireland required. Also, some travels to Spain to engage with broader BIB Sales team are to be considered.
