Job Description:

Director of Quantity Surveying

Scotland (Glasgow & Edinburgh)

Salary: £90,000 – £115,000 + Bonus + Benefits

A leading global property consultancy is looking to appoint a Director of Quantity Surveying to lead and grow its cost management offering across Scotland. This is a genuine opportunity to shape a service line, build a team, and play a central role in the next phase of the business’s regional growth.

With an established presence across both Glasgow and Edinburgh, the business already has strong relationships in place through its wider general practice, project management, and building surveying teams. The foundations are there — what’s needed now is a commercially minded leader who can elevate and expand the quantity surveying service.

The existing pipeline of work spans a diverse and interesting portfolio, including distillery developments, commercial schemes, and a broad range of public sector projects. However, this role is about far more than delivery — it’s about unlocking opportunity, leveraging existing client relationships, and building a sustainable, high-performing cost management function.

You will work closely with established teams across project management and building surveying, collaborating to deliver a fully integrated consultancy service. There is significant scope to tap into an existing client base while also driving new business and strengthening market presence across Scotland.

This role would suit an experienced Associate Director or Director who is ready to take ownership of a service line, or an established leader looking for a platform where they can make a tangible impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow the Quantity Surveying / Cost Management service across Scotland
  • Develop and execute a clear business growth strategy
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to maximise cross-selling opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across both public and private sectors
  • Deliver high-quality cost consultancy services across a varied project portfolio
  • Mentor and develop future talent as the team grows

About You:

You will bring a broad range of sector experience across both public and private markets, with the credibility to lead client relationships and win work. You are commercially aware, personable, and confident in working across multidisciplinary teams.

Just as importantly, you will have the drive and ambition to grow something — to take an existing platform and build a market-leading service.

MRICS is preferred, but more important is your ability to lead, influence, and deliver.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role with real autonomy, backed by a well-established brand and a strong regional platform.
