A growing investment manager with an established presence in the UK is looking to appoint a sales Director to spearhead its expansion within the insurance sector. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a key client segment and shape the firm’s relationships with insurers across the market.

The Opportunity

This position sits within the institutional team and carries responsibility for building and executing a focused strategy targeting UK insurance companies. You will play a leading role in originating new opportunities, developing senior client relationships, and positioning the firm’s investment capabilities in line with insurers’ evolving portfolio and regulatory requirements.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers, you will be instrumental in converting prospects into long-term mandates and helping to grow the firm’s footprint in this strategically important channel.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading business development efforts across UK life and general insurance companies• Creating and maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities within the insurance space• Engaging directly with senior stakeholders including CIOs, investment teams, and risk functions• Delivering high-impact presentations and managing end-to-end sales processes through to mandate win• Developing tailored investment propositions that reflect insurers’ liability profiles, capital considerations, and regulatory environment• Building partnerships with investment consultants and other key influencers in the insurance ecosystem• Working cross-functionally with product, investment, and ESG teams to align solutions with client needs

Your Background

• Demonstrable success in institutional sales with a clear focus on UK insurance clients• Strong network and credibility within the insurer and consultant communityIn-depth understanding of how insurers construct portfolios, including capital efficiency and liability-driven considerations• Broad knowledge of both public and private asset classes and their application in insurance mandates• Confident communicator with strong commercial instincts and the ability to manage complex sales cycles• Proactive, driven, and comfortable operating in a high-autonomy, growth-oriented environment• This role offers the chance to take a leading position in a firm that is investing in its institutional capabilities, with particular emphasis on the insurance market. • You’ll be joining a collaborative team and working with sophisticated clients on complex, high-value mandates….
