Electrical Design Engineer – Bedfordshire – £48,000–£55,000 – Manufacturing

The Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical designs from concept through to production. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet technical, safety, and commercial requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems, control panels, and schematics for manufacturing equipment
• Produce detailed drawings using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
• Support the full project lifecycle, from initial concept through to commissioning
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, BS, CE marking)
• Work closely with mechanical engineers, production teams, and external suppliers
• Participate in design reviews, testing, and troubleshooting activities

Requirements

• Proven experience in electrical design within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and electrical schematics
• Proficiency in electrical CAD software
• Understanding of relevant standards and safety regulations
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• HND/HNC or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
