About the Role

We’re partnering with a leading Specialty Insurer to appoint a senior technology leader to build and lead their Data & Analytics function.

This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, driving strategic data initiatives, delivering scalable solutions, and enabling smarter, faster decision-making across the organisation.

You’ll act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, shaping the data strategy while building a high-performing team and embedding a strong data-driven culture.

Leadership & Team Growth

• Build and lead a high-performing, diverse Data & Analytics technology team
• Develop capability, drive retention, and create a strong engineering and business mindset
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation

Delivery & Execution

• Own a portfolio of data and analytics initiatives, aligned to business priorities
• Deliver programmes on time, within budget, and to a high standard
• Manage resource planning, financials, and delivery capacity

Business Partnership

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across Data, Operations, and Executive teams
• Align technology delivery with strategic business goals
• Build strong relationships across UK and global entities

Technology & Innovation

• Lead the design and delivery of modern data platforms, Azure, Databricks, and beyond
• Champion best practice, standardisation, and scalable architecture
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation across data capabilities

Governance & Risk

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and data protection standards
• Manage risk across delivery, vendors, and third-party partners
• Oversee audit, privacy, and operational controls

Tech Environment

• Microsoft Azure data ecosystem
• Databricks and modern data platforms
• Power BI and data visualisation tools
• Agile and DevOps delivery environments
• Tools including Office 365, Planview
• Informatica and Clarity, nice to have
