Job Description:

Location: London or NYC

We’re working on behalf of a leading global research firm that is building a new product focused on deep technology, AI, and long-term structural change. The product will be used by asset managers, hedge funds and other institutional investment firm to help them better shape their investment thesis.

This role is centred on developing clear, differentiated thinking on complex technological shifts, and communicating that thinking to a sophisticated institutional audience.

The remit spans themes such as AI and automation, the energy transition, next-generation infrastructure, biotech innovation, space infrastructure, quantum science, and next-generation computing.

The role

The successful candidate will:

  • Produce high-quality, original research on major technological and scientific developments, with a focus on long-term structural impact
  • Develop clear frameworks and narratives that explain how these technologies evolve, where value accrues, and what matters versus what is noise
  • Write compelling, intellectually rigorous analysis for a sophisticated global audience
  • Link ideas to capital markets investments.

This product will cover a broad set of interconnected themes, including:

  • Artificial intelligence and automation
  • Energy systems and the energy transition
  • Infrastructure and industrial transformation
  • Biotech and life sciences
  • Space and advanced technologies
  • Quantum science and next-generation computing
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure research is relevant and can be applied to broader economic and market discussions

This is a thinking and writing-led role, with a strong emphasis on depth of understanding, originality, and clarity of communication. It is not an engineering, data science, or purely academic position.

Background

Strong candidates are likely to demonstrate:

  • Deep, first-principles understanding of AI and/or other frontier technologies, with the ability to engage meaningfully with technical concepts
  • A track record of producing differentiated, high-quality written analysis on complex topics
  • The ability to separate signal from noise across fast-moving and often over-hyped areas
  • Experience covering or analysing multiple areas such as AI, software, energy, biotech, infrastructure, or advanced computing
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to connect ideas across disciplines

Backgrounds may include technology research, independent analysis, financial service research roles, or other high-quality journalism or long-form writing roles focused on complex technological or economic themes.
